Hi, I’m chef Jennifer Urda.

Cooking has been a passion of mine from a very young age. Growing up, I was one of the few children who preferred watching "The Galloping Gourmet" and "In the Kitchen with Julia" to Sesame Street. As a result, by the time I was in grade school, I was my mother's favorite "sous chef", and by junior high was planning and preparing the menus for my family's holiday and cocktail parties. My love of cooking has continued to grow over the years, and for me, there's no greater satisfaction than preparing delicious meals for friends and family.

Having worked for IBM for 18 years, I also know first hand the time demands on today's busy professional. Add to that family and social responsibilities, and it's not surprising that many of today's families rely on pre-packaged, grocery store meals or restaurant take-out. It's a wonder we have time to eat at all, let alone eat well!

In addition to being licensed as a Personal Chef through the USPCA's Culinary Business Academy, I have also earned Master Certificates in both cooking and catering from the New School in New York City and am certified by the National Restaurant Association in safe food handling techniques. Additionally, I am a guest instructor at The New School’s culinary program and I frequently supply Will Morton’s Greenwich based bistro with some of my signature desserts. I am well versed in preparing many regional cuisines as well as many types of special preparations including low-fat, low-carb, vegetarian, kosher and diabetic.

As your Personal Chef, my goal is to improve your quality of life by providing delicious meals for you and your family to enjoy and reduce the stress and demands on your time by making customized, well balanced meals easy and convenient for you to prepare.
